Nurses are critical to pandemic and disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.

International Resource Center for Pandemic and Disaster Nursing

Nurses play critical roles in pandemic and disaster response, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, there are glaring, fundamental gaps within and among countries in how the global nursing workforce trains and prepares for large-scale public health emergencies. These disparities can have dire consequences for nurses, patients, and the communities they care for.

The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security International Resource Center for Pandemic and Disaster Nursing helps bridge this gap. It is an open-source platform to share evidence-based educational resources and training materials to help nurses prepare for disaster and pandemic response. It provides a forum for nurses with interest or expertise in disaster and pandemic nursing to share best practices, collaborate on research initiatives to advance the profession, foster cultural relationships, and promote global disaster and pandemic nursing research and practice.
